Gabriel, surdocego,também "reconstrói" a história da EMEBS HK

Levamos a turma do Gabriel, aluno surdocego, à Biblioteca Raul Bopp no Parque da Aclimação.

Demos a volta no prédio e através do tato ele constatou que era uma "escola bem menor" que a nossa atual.

Estas atividades práticas são fundamentais para o surdocego perceber o mundo que o cerca e assim adquirir o conhecimento.

O próximo passo será construirmos com ele uma maquete tátil do município de SP com os 4 endereços que a escola HK já teve: Santana, Ipiranga, biblioteca do Parque da Aclimação e Rua Pedra Azul, tbm na Aclimação.

We've brought Gabriel, our deaf-blind Student, and his class to Raul Bopp Library at Aclimação Park.

We've walked around the library building and Gabriel realized by touching the walls that this space is actually smaller than the current one.

This kind of practical activity is essential to deaf-blind people. It allows them to understand the world and by doing that they can acquire learning.

The next step will be to build a tactile maquette with Gabriel. It will be a maquette of São Paulo City and it will include all 4 places where Gabriel has been to together with Helen Keller School: Santana, Ipiranga, Raul Bopp Library and Pedra Azul St, the last one also located at Aclimação neighbourhood.
